Here I am sharing my real-time experience of lifestyle in Japan.
What do you think about lifestyle?
Lifestyle is nothing but the way of building living days in this universe until the last breath of a human being. It includes one’s attitude, habits, status, surroundings, etc.
Japan is the highest cultural influence country in Asia and 5th worldwide.
There are 125,477,441 as of Friday, February 3, 2023, people living in Japan. 1.82 million people are working as foreigners. And I am one of them.
The lifestyle in Japan is almost like living in heaven for me.
The cost of living is high. Depending on the region it will vary.
People are so kind and helpful. For foreigners, people give extra care and help as much as they can. I am an introvert but I was never ashamed of asking for help after entering this country. People never made me feel like I am a foreigner. They always encouraged me by saying that I am good at Japanese but for me, I need to improve a lot. Whatever the help or wherever or whomever I ask I never get disappointed.
Kids are also Well disciplined.
As you all know, time is everything here. Even every single second matters a lot.
You will get to know about the importance of time while living here.
In the workplace, they will start and finish the work at exact times. I never think about work other than working hours. Never come across work pressure.
Lunch hour is 1hr exactly from 12 to 1 in my office. At first, I suffered a lot to get adapt to this timing. After sometimes I get used to it.
Wherever the place is if it is rush hour you can see a well-disciplined queue where people are waiting for their exact turn (Ex: lift, train, cash counter.)
If you would like to live in a peaceful country then Japan comes first.
You can’t hear unwanted noises. I have been living here for around 3 months. Until now I did not hear a car, bus, bike horn sounds, or bicycle horn sounds. The only sound I can hear is the Ambulance siren. The reason behind this is only in emergency situations you should use the horn. Making unwanted noises meant breaking the law and disturbing other drivers, and pedestrians too. In my country, it is the absolute opposite so I never wanna go to walking. Here I love the peaceful walking moments. The only thing I am missing is my favorite soul with whom I always wanna do these kinda peaceful walks.
Most people use bicycles and cars for their convenience. I could see that some cycles do not have a bell.
Bike usage is less here. The most common public transport is the train. Because it is very convenient to pay for the tickets. You don’t need to rush to buy the tickets. We can pay by Train passes in swiping gates by recharging depending on their need.
Trains are very often so if you miss the train the next train will arrive within the next 3 to 5 minutes.
I love the signboard system inside the station here. It saves the searching time of the train platform for our destination. It makes the journey as much as an effortless one.
Compared to my country, I am crossing a lot of signals while walking from one place to another place. But while crossing, If any car or any vehicle comes across they will wait patiently until people cross the road.
One more thing I love is the vending machines. Sometimes it saves my bloody thirsty tongue.
But the quantity of drinks or any food is less than the usual quantity of store products and the price is a little high. Even Though it has disadvantages, I loved it. You can see at least 2 machines in a street while entering and exiting the street.
In big malls weekends are going to be rushed, here comes the technology to reduce the effort of workers by paying in machines. The only thing you need to do is to enter the money into the machine. It will take the bill amount and give back the remaining change.
Another super cool billing machine I came across in cloth shops. There is a machine that will generate the bill automatically once I place the shopping tray inside the machine. It will calculate the number of clothes and prepare a bill with the sensor.
I Am wondering about these technologies. I am also afraid that one day these technologies are going to rule the world. Where many people are going to be jobless.
Regarding the food culture, they are very health conscious. As an Indian when you think about Japan’s food the first thing that hits our mind is The great comedian Gowndamani sir’s and kovaisarala mam’s comedy. Where he says that Ramen noodles were snake’s fences. One of the best and most unforgettable comedy scenes of them. I was literally thinking like that only.
But after entering Japan it is totally different here. Japanese people don’t eat many spicy foods. Their food has a mild taste. Some people like our Indian foods too. When I go to an Indian restaurant in Japan I can see the Japanese people who all are enjoying our spices. They mostly eat pork and beef. Not even chicken. The quantity of food is also very less. In every food, you can smell the bytes of pork or beef. But the taste As an Indian I never wanna try these half boiled tasteless pork or beef. I am a south Indian and I like spicy foods only. In Japan, even snacks don’t taste as spicy as I expected.
My level of cooking is 0 out of 100. I never ever dreamed of this nightmare of cooking every day. But now somehow I can manage. I brought some Indian spices along with me which helped me a lot.
Once in a lifetime, I wanna try some sushi, and tempura in Japan because those are very famous foods here. Some of my friends told me that they were not that good. Whatever it is still I wanna give it a try. I believe that the food culture varies depending on the country’s weather situation too. This food culture is also one of the reasons for Japanese people’s long life duration.
I never believed that I am gonna work in a leading technology birth country. Whatever the technologies are, sometimes I feel like people’s interactions are very less. As I always love to do Jim Jam talkies with my buddies. Here, I am speaking for around 1 to 1.30 hours only per day which makes my days very hard sometimes. Even Though my days are hard, those hard times become cool because of my choco pie with whom I always do cuppy cake talkies. Do talk with your soulmates as much as you can that really helps to turn your worst days into sweety choco pie days.
